Dr. Dave Dodrill has been instrumental in the Flathead Valley by showing compassion through all his personal and business relationships. His Montana journey began in the 80s when he first moved to a small southern town in Montana with his mother. He remained there until his High School graduation and left for college on the east coast.
He received his B.S. with honors from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. He spent over a year at the Universidad de Costa Rica. This experience was a life changing one where he was able to work in the dental field and volunteer to help those in need.
Dr. Dave then received his D.D.S. degree cum laude from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA followed by graduating from the Advanced General Dentistry Program at Idaho State University.
Following his education he worked at a couple private dental practices in the Flathead Valley and Virginia. He focused on both general and pediatric patients. He arrived back to the Flathead Valley in 2011 practicing at the Digital Dentistry Of Montana office located in Kalispell. He has since became the sole owner of this practice.
Dr. Dave was awarded multiple scholarships nominated by his peers and faculty. He was also honored for high moral and ethical conduct in patient care, a Clinic Volunteer Excellence Award along with many others. He also has published works and engaged in keynote speaking events.
Dr. Dave has a heart for volunteering. Since graduation he has volunteered with numerous dental outreach programs including Shepard’s Hand Free Dental Clinic (Whitefish), Give Kids a Smile Day (Columbia Falls), Mission of Mercy Project, Pediatric Outreach Project, Moss Free Dental Clinic, Operation Donated Dental Services and the Jamaica Project.
These programs, in various levels, all offer services to improve access to dental care for the community and underserved populations. They offer more definitive care that these patients are requiring verses pain management. Dr. Dave doesn’t limit his volunteering to dentistry. He has also volunteered with the Project Homeless Connect (Kalispell), Special Olympic (Kalispell), multiple Habitat for Humanity projects and taught English in Costa Rica. He also has donated to numerous nonprofit organizations and individual people in need.
As a small example of how he likes to brighten people’s day, he randomly picks up people’s bills whether he knows them or not. He wants to contribute to keeping people smiling. Dr. Dave believes in this valley. He spent time traveling and has found the place he can call home. He recently started investing in local housing and a land development project.
He wants all his projects to compliment and add-to the community contributing to why the Flathead Valley is the best.
